Purpose

Use this menu item to create, modify and delete miscellaneous charges. These charges can be set up for items such as coverages, additional drivers, drop charges, etc.


Fields – General Tab

Description – A description of this charge.

Type – The type of charge:

  • Misc Chg – Miscellaneous charge.
  • CDW – Collision damage waiver.
  • PAC – Personal accident coverage.
  • PEC – Personal effects coverage.
  • SLI – Supplemental liability insurance.
  • AD – Additional driver.
  • UD – Underage driver.
  • Upgrade – Upgrade charge.
  • Drop Charge – Drop charge.
  • Fuel – Fuel charge.
  • Prepaid Fuel – Prepaid fuel charge.
  • FF Recovery Fee – Frequent Flyer recovery fee.

Code – A code for this charge.

Auto-Apply – If the charge is a Misc Charge type, it is automatically applied to the contract. If the charge is a coverage (CDW, PAC, PEC, or SLI), then it is available to be added with the coverage checkboxes on the Sales screen.

Location – The location to which this charge applies.

Product – The product to which this charge applies.

Class – The class to which this charge applies.

Effective/End Date – The date range for which this charge can be used.

Deductible – The CDW deductible amount. This field is enabled only when the charge type is CDW.

Limit – The CDW limit amount. This field is enabled only when the charge type is CDW.

Calculate By – The method used for calculating the charge amount:

  • Flat – A one-time amount. Enter the amount in the Unit field.
  • 24-Hour Time – Calculated based on 24-hour periods. Enter the amounts in the Hourly/Daily/Weekly/Monthly fields.
  • Calendar Day Time – Calculated based on calendar days. Enter the amounts in the Hourly/Daily/Weekly/Monthly fields.
  • Modified 24-Hour Time – Similar to 24-Hour Time, but any hourly charges are rounded up to an extra day.
  • Per Unit – An amount that can be charged multiple times. Enter the amount in the Unit field.

Commissionable – If employees earn commission on this charge, check this box.

Unit – For flat and per unit charges, this is the unit amount charged.

Hourly/Daily/Weekly/Monthly – For daily-type charges, these are the amounts that are charged for each hour, day, etc.

Order – For percentage-type charges, this specifies the order in which charges are calculated. If this percentage charge applies to another percentage charge, the other charge must be calculated first, and therefore must have a lower order number.

Percent – For percentage -type charges, this is the percentage of its applicable charges that will be charged.

Rounding – For percentage-type charges, this specifies how fractions of a cent are to be handled.


Fields – Taxable Tab

Apply Limits – To apply day or amount limits, check this box. The Min/Max Days and Amount fields will be enabled.

Min/Max Days – The minimum and maximum number of days to charge.

Min/Max Amount – The minimum and maximum amounts to charge.

Min Appl Amount – The minimum amount that this tax applies to. For example, a 100.00 minimum amount means the tax will be taxing at least 100.00.

Max Appl Amount - The maximum amount that this tax applies to. For example, a 100.00 maximum amount means the tax will be taxing at most 100.00.

Available Taxes – Any taxes that are set up in Fees and Taxes are in this list. If a tax applies to this charge, use the Add button to move it to the Applicable Taxes list.

Applicable Taxes – If a tax in this list does not apply to this charge, use the Del button to move it back to the Available Taxes list.


Fields – Airlines Tab

The fields on this tab are only enabled for Frequent Flyer Recovery Fees.

Automatically apply charge for these frequent flyer carriers – If this box is checked, the frequent flyer recovery fee will be automatically applied to contracts that have a frequent flyer airline that is in the Applicable Airlines list.

Available Airlines – Any airlines that are set up in the Airlines table will be in this list. If the frequent flyer recovery fee applies to a particular airline, use the Add button to move it to the Applicable Airlines list.

Applicable Airlines – If an airline in this list does not apply to the frequent flyer recovery fee, use the Del button to move it back to the Available Airlines list.


Fields – Percent Calc Tab

The fields on this tab are only enabled for percentage-type charges.

Available Charges – This list box displays all charges that can be apply to the current charge. If a charge should apply, use the "Add" button to move it into the Applicable Charges list.

Applicable Charges – This list box displays all charges that apply to the current charge. If a charge does not apply, use the "Del" button to move it back into the Available Charges list.
