Printer Mapping

Purpose
Use this menu item to tell RentWorks what printer driver to use for each printer on the system. If a printer has been properly installed in Microsoft Windows (see Windows Help for instructions to install a printer), it will be listed in the printer mapping section of RentWorks.
Note: this screen is only necessary if you use a dot matrix (impact) printer such as the Okidate Microline 320.
Fields
Show Printer – Select one of the options listed below to display a list of available printers.
- "All Printers" will list all printers attached to all terminals and servers.
- "This Terminal’s Printers" will only list printers that are mapped to the terminal from which you are accessing this screen.
Printer Kind - This column gives you the ability to select from a list of printer drivers (emulations) to be assigned to the selected printed. The choices are:
- AMT242D – AMT-242D
- Cameo – Cameo hand-held printer
- EPSON – Epson FX80
- EpsonLQ – Epson LQ
- EpsonTM – Epson thermal receipt printer
- HP3 – Hewlett Packard 3
- IBMPPR – IBM ProPrinter
- OKI320 – Okidata 320
- QL320+ – Zebra QL320+ hand-held printer
- Star – Star receipt printer
Name – This column will display all printers properly installed in Microsoft Windows. If you have a printer attached to a computer and it doesn’t show here, it is not properly installed in Windows or the network environment.
Port – This column will display the port that has been configured for this printer within Windows.
Computer – This column will display the Computer Name physically connected to each listed printer.
