Purpose

This menu item allows you to create, modify and delete vehicle maintenance alerts. Implementing preventative maintenance procedures helps you keep your fleet running smoothly. By entering cost data with repair orders, you can keep track of how much you are spending in maintaining your vehicles.

When you select the "Global Add" button - TbGlobalAdd.png - a dialog box appears in which you can select a range of vehicles by product, class, year, make, model, VIN, and/or unit number. Once you’ve entered your selections, click on the "Select" button to list the applicable vehicles in the browser. You can then click on a line to select or deselect that vehicle.

Fields

Product/Unit# - The product and unit number of the selected vehicle. If more than one vehicle was selected, these fields will be blank and disabled.

Maint. Type – The maintenance procedure for this alert. The rest of the fields will be assigned values based on this procedure.

  • Recurring Date or Mileage – A procedure that recurs at either a certain date interval or mileage interval.
  • Recurring Date Only - A procedure that recurs at a certain date.
  • Recurring Mileage Only - A procedure that recurs at a certain mileage.
  • Non-recurring Date or Mileage – A procedure that occurs only once at a certain date or at a certain mileage.
  • Non-recurring Date Only – A procedure that occurs only once at a certain date.
  • Non-recurring Mileage Only – A procedure that occurs only once at a certain mileage.
  • Non-recurring Immediate – A procedure that occurs only once, right now.

Frequency – The number of days and/or miles (depending on the schedule) between alerts.

Default Parts Cost – The standard cost of part for this procedure.

Default Labor Cost – The standard labor cost for this procedure.

Action – When the alert is triggered, it can either warn the user with a message or set the vehicle to a grounded status.

Last Date – The last date that this maintenance alert was triggered. Next Service Date – The next date that this maintenance alert is due to be triggered.

Last Odometer – The last odometer reading when this maintenance alert was triggered.

Next Service Odometer – The next odometer when this maintenance alert is due to be triggered.
