Location

MAIL

Purpose

Mail messages are kept in the system. Eventually, the message table can become quite large. Purging should be done periodically to remove old messages.

Note: It is STRONGLY recommended that you backup your database before purging. Records will be permanently deleted and can only be recovered from the backup.


Fields

Oldest message sent on – The date and time of the oldest message in the system.

Purge Messages Sent Before – Any messages sent before this date will be purged.

Purge Messages Sent To – To purge messages sent to a specific employee or group, enter their employee ID in this field or click on the binocular lookup. This is useful to remove messages for a person who is no longer with the company.

Purge Messages Sent From – To purge messages sent from a specific employee or group, enter their employee ID in this field or click on the binocular lookup. This is useful to remove messages sent by a person who is no longer with the company.

Purge Unread Messages – Check this box if you wish to purge messages that have not been read yet.

Purge Receipts Only – If this box is checked, only acknowledgement receipts will be purged.
