Purge[edit]
Location
TIME CLOCK
Purpose
Every transaction made by every employee is kept in the system. Eventually, the transaction table can become quite large. Purging should be done periodically, preferably after year-end to remove these historical transactions.
WARNING: It is STRONGLY recommended that you backup your database before purging. Records will be permanently deleted and can only be recovered from the backup.
Note: Only employees with a job type of System Maintenance can initiate a database purge.
Fields
Last Purge Cutoff Date – The date that Time Clock transactions were last purged. This is maintained by the system.
Cutoff Date – Transactions with dates previous or equal to this date will be removed.
Archive/Print Data – Check this box if you wish to archive or print the data that will be purged.
Archive/Printing Path and Method – If you had indicated above that you wish to archive or print purged data, you will be prompted for the path of the file and the method to be used.
