'''Location''' SETTINGS > System Configuration ''Purpose'' The Custom Features work screen allows you to control how RentWorks behaves in order to best meet your company's needs. A code not only has to be added to your database, but it has to be activated. ''Fields'' Code - Use the look-up browser to see what Custom Feature Codes are already in your database. You can search for codes by selecting “Code” or “Description” as a search criteria, enter a code or description (or leave this field blank), then click on the “Search” button. Locate and highlight the desired code in the Lookup dialog, then click on the “Select” button. In the look-up browser, there is a column which indicates if it is active or not, and the description. Active - Click on the “Edit” button in the button bar, then check (or uncheck) the “Active” box depending on whether you wish to activate or deactivate the feature. Description - This will describe the purpose of the Custom Feature. Value - Several Custom Features require a value in order to function properly. ''Adding new Custom Feature codes'' If you do NOT see the code by using Search, click on the “New” icon to add it. When you tab to the next field, the description will fill in automatically. Be sure to check the “Active” box. Use the “Available Custom Features” section at the bottom of the screen to see what features are available for selection. • Use the vertical scroll bar on the right side of the list to scroll through the entire list. • Enter a word in the “Keywords” field to limit the list to codes which contain that word in the Description field.
